Side Trips from Lvov

While in Lvov, take a day or two to visit another country -- -Poland. The Polish city nearest to Lvov is Peremyshl (Przemysl in Polish). You can take a taxi directly to the Ukrainian border town of Sheguni for about $32. Or, go to the main train station and take a Marshrutny -- a van or small bus. They cost less than $2 and leave whenever they fill up, approximately every 20 minutes. The trip to Sheguni takes about an hour and a half. Then walk across the border into the small Polish town of Medkyt. Visitros from the US and EU do not need a Visa to enter Poland, or to re-enter Ukraine, for vistis of up to 90 days. Then hop on bus to the larger citry of Przemycl for less than a dollar. Buses leave when they fill up -- about every 20 minutes or so.
